2012-2013 Guild Wrap Up: Friendship

A Sum Up of The Final Guild Gathering  – June 8, 2013

What a year this has been with guild.  We had some terrific challenges and the results were incredible.

The Winners of this year’s challenges were:

  • Small Scrap Quilt Challenge – Kathleen K
  • Large scrap quilt challenge – Riske Q
  • Most fabrics used in a scrap quilt – Linda B
  • Carol Lawrence Fashion Bag challenge Gwynneth R

The Brown Bag challenge was a smashing success.  The creativity that was shown by our members was incredible and the quilts beautiful.  I know I love mine.

Please remember if you did not get your Embroidery Pieces in the display you wanted – we would still love to see them in September.

Thank you to Janet M and Denise G for your donations of the prizes.

Upcoming Events to Mark on your Calendar

  • Quilt Show in Balzac Saturday Oct 19 and Sunday Oct 20th  sponsored by Airdrie and District Quilt Guild

Charity Quilts:

  • Fantastic…there were at least 14 charity quilts on display and they all looked great.
  • Next step:  solid coloured or solid looking borders all around
  • 5” border (cut 5 ½”) top and bottom and 3” border (cut 3 ½”) on the sides
  • PLEASE  measure through the middle of the quilt to get an accurate measurement for the borders so that you do not end up with wavy edges.
